Practice, Perfect, Perform! The mission of the MCB is to provide opportunities for community musicians to come together in an enjoyable and cooperative atmosphere to practice, perfect and perform inspiring and educational concerts in the American town band tradition for the benefit of the greater community and to promote cultural enhancement.

Founded in 1977 as part of the Okemos (MI) Community Education program, the Meridian Community Band became an independent non-profit (paragraph 501(c)3) organization in 1983.

The Meridian Community Band divides its season into five sessions (Autumn, Holiday, Festival, Spring and Summer).  Each session has its own focus concert(s).  The band performs twelve to twenty concerts per season in a wide variety of settings.  Our outreach concerts are designed to bring music to the elderly and infirm, while our community service concerts provide music for commencement ceremonies and other civic functions.
